Isabelle Morgan.
Raw, authentic poetry accompanied by film and digital snapshots of daily life. Honesty from introspection spliced with moments of normalcy frozen in time. Focusing on our connection with the space around us and the interplay of the hidden space within us, and all the mysteries and questions that exist between.
About
Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Isabelle Morgan grew up in the arts. From the age of three, ballet became her path and direction, just as vital as air. This love carried her to Florida, where she completed her education at the prestigious ballet boarding school, The Harid Conservatory. Shortly after, Isabelle joined Cincinnati Ballet as a professional dancer, achieving her dream, the goal she had always seen. This continued until the spring of 2023, when Isabelle made the difficult decision to leave the only world she had known. This departure, one fueled by finding peace and understanding of the person she was and hoped to be, has been an intensive deconstruction of self. In the two years since the end of one passion, Isabelle Morgan has found writing and photography not only as a therapeutic way to process and capture her own emotions, but has found a public resonance. The style of her work can be explained as reactionary to the perfectionist ideals of ballet and highlighting the beauty and mess we exist in every day. Isabelle will be joining the University of Kentucky this fall, pursuing a degree in journalism.
